SAB&T, a leading black empowered firm, provides accounting, auditing, business consultancy and tax advisory services.

Established in 1994, Mr Bashier Adam who founded SAB&T joined forces with Mr Liaquat Hoosen. Their aim and objective was to position the organisation as a market leader in the industry.

The firm, spearheaded by Mr Adam, CEO of SAB&T, started primarily as an accounting practice, soon expanded its services to other regions within the country. Thus offices were established in Hammanskraal, Durban, Cape Town, Polokwane and Johannesburg. At this stage the number of directors had increased to twelve with a staff compliment of some eighty.

As time progressed, SAB&T faced new challenges and demands, yet the values of service excellence and the culture of learning prevailed.

In 1998 SAB&T became a member firm of Nexia International (Nexia), a world-wide association of professional firms in the financial industry and was appointed to head up the South Asian, Middle East, Africa Region (SAMEA). Furthermore, SAB&T was elected to chair the first International Strategy Group of Nexia.

Being a member firm of Nexia has brought with it various opportunities, access and exposure to the global market.
SAB&T has identified the need for representation abroad, which led to the establishment of an office in Perth, Australia.

As this dynamic organisation evolved, so did their service offerings. In 2003, SAB&T had developed into a complete multi-disciplinary professional firm.
Mr Adam handed his position as CEO to Mrs Lily Zondo. This strategic move afforded him the opportunity to embark on new profitable ventures for the organisation.
In 2005, not only did SAB&T launch offices in Mauritius, but also acquired a 50% stake in Contract Accountants, which is a niche recruitment firm for the accounting and financial industry.

Effective 1 November 2005, Mrs Zondo has been seconded to the Auditor General, as the Corporate Executive: Audit National for a period of five years. Thus Mr Adam resumed his position as CEO.
